ABSTRACT

Photochemistry of some 2-butenyl/butynyl-bischromones has been investigated in benzene and isopropanol-THF (1:1). The photoreactions are initiated through the intramolecular H-abstraction that leads to the formation of tetracyclic derivatives and vinyl bischromones. Photolytic conversion of the bischromones is found to be dependent upon the nature of the intermediate spacer and H-donating capability of the solvent.
